No big changes on the singles chart. Delta has dropped back to #2 after an impressive first week. The Veronicas also make a big comeback with the biggest debut of there short career with Hook me Up debuting at #5! Cant wait for there album! However sadly Kelly Clarksons new single One Minute, whilst being a darling at radio, without a video has flopped at #41, 10 places above the current position of Never Again! Thank god shes appearing on Idol tomorrow night.

Natalie Imbruglias single collection flops at #40, whilst Kelly Clarkson My December moves up slightly to #46, i expect this to have big gains next week so look out!!

Britneys Back, Bitches! iTunes #1!!!

Ok, well its not really Australian music scene news, but its still about the Australian music market! Britney Spears new single Gimme More was added to iTunes on Tuesday night, and has in the past 2 days made its way all the way up to #1!
I think this is great considering the negative press shes been getting lately. If she brings out a video soon, im sure it will be a ARIA hit, maybe even #1?

DELTA IS BACK AT #1!!!
In This Life is Deltas 9th #1 single and is so far the fastest selling single of 2007 going Gold in its first week. Timbaland and Matchbox 20 also make debuts on the single charts this week. Sadly Vanessa Amorosi Kiss Ya Mama! has fallen from #15 to #24, OUCH! Her album has apparently been pushed back (more details to come).

Oh, SonyBMG wouldnt be happy! Shannon Nolls latest hasnt got the reception that they wanted. Loud only spend one week in the top 10 before falling 10 places, and now his album Turn It Up has debuted at #3. His last 2 efforts Thats What Im Talking About and Lift both got #1 debuts. #3 is still a good result though and hopefully it will rise with no big albums being released this week. I will post a review on this album later, but i must say its not as good as his previous effort Lift.
Suprise Suprise, James Blunts new album is #1 and Kanye West has lost to 50 in Australia, only debuting at #2 with 50 getting to #1 last week.
ALSO P!nk FINALLY left the top 10 after a record breaking 62 weeks.

Hook Up The Veronicas New Album Name

Hmm, well today The Veronicas new single Hook Me Up was released in Australia and it contained the new album named.......Hook Me Up! Yet there not even trying with the album name this time. I love them so much, and i think Hook Me Up is an amazing song, but The V's have always been so creative with everything, the new album name is just bad.

Anyways, theres also a competition open only to Australian residents where you can enter to get your name in there new album booklet! Ill post the link soon. Its going to be interesting to see how they do this.....

There are 2 new songs Insomnia and Everything which come with the single. They are both keeping with the new pop dance sound. Ill upload them ASAP!

Poor Nat

Poor Nat Bassingswaighte of the Rogue Traders attended the funeral of ex Big Brother housemate and her ex-boyfriend Gordon Sloan. The Daily Telegraph have commented that Nat was "inconsolable" at the loss of Gordon and despite breaking up, they remained very close.

Our thoughts are with you Nat and the Sloan family.

Not The Diva We Thought

Ok, sorry for no updates, but i have had exams and have been unable to get to a computer till today.

Anyways, i just wanted to do a quick update on the Ricki Lee vs Young Divas wedding fiasco. I got the story i posted below from Tv Week, and what do you know, they were uninformed. As the very lovely person stated in the comments section, Paulini, Kate and Emily WERE invited to Ricki Lees wedding, but none of them turned up. Whats the go girls? Perhaps they are jealous of her solo sucess?

If you want to read more on this, Wednesdays edition of the Daily Telegraph has centre page write up on it, so does this weeks edition of the Australian Womens Day. If i get a chance, i will scan them and post them.

Young Divas Wedding.....Or Not

Last week end popette RICKI LEE got married to her boyfriend in a lavish Gold Coast wedding ceremony. There were quite a few famous faces in the crowd including alot of ex-idol stars. But guess who were missing? Thats right Kate DeAraguo, Paulini and Emily Williams, collectivly they were once known as the Young Divas. Ricki had tried to say that she had left the group on good terms and remained good friends with them all, however not even one of the three got invited to the wedding? I guess the remaining Young Divas invitation got lost in the mail......

Better debut than i was expecting from Vanessa Amorosi, but i love this song and it deserves to be in the top 10. Dear Mr.President has lost alot of steam (that god, im so sick of it!) and Shannon Nolls Loud dropped down the charts alot too, its no Shine sorry to say.

Here is the B-side to DELTA GOODREMS new single In This Life. The new song is called Take Me Home. I love this track, it would have to be one of my favs from Delta, its a totally new change in sound. Some of her fans hated it because its to much of a change, and its to sexual. But i love it! Hope the album is like this.....

Kellys Oz Tour And Single

Ok, shes not Australian, but its got to do with the Australian music scene, so im posting it bitches!
The 2nd single of KELLY CLARKSON new album My December in Australia will be One Minute (see single cover) although no video has yet been made for the song......
This week One Minute is siting in the top 20 on radio, which is a good sign. The single will be released on 22 September. Kelly will arrive in Oz for a promo tour from the 27th to promote the new album and single. She will be doing quite a few high profile TV appearances (including Rove, Idol, Sunrise etc) so i expect the album will rise back up the charts in coming weeks. She will being bringing her My December Tour to Australia early next year.
Australians love Kelly, with her last tour down under was a sell out with more shows having to be added, and Breakaway spent 52 weeks in the Top 10, peaking @ #2 going 6xPlatinum. My December was certified Gold in its first week of release.

And The New You Diva Is....

Thats right, the latest edition to the YOUNG DIVAS is the 17 year old runner up for the 2006 season of Australian Idol. Jess is replacing Ricki Lee who left to focus on her music career. SongBMG have hinted that there will be a new Divas album out by the end of the year, or aleast a new single. It will be the follow up to there 2006 self titled debut which went to #4 on the ARIA charts and went 2xPlatinum. It also had 2 top10 single the #2 This Time I Know Its For Real and the #9 Happenin' All Over Again.
I love the Divas and there album rocks, BUT, what is the definition of Diva? Jess is only 17, shes NOT a diva! And poor Kate DeAraguo is going to stick out like a sore "white" thumb. Cosima DeVito (who is releasing a new album This Is Now, next month) should have replaced Ricki.
I think that Kate needs to get back to doing solo stuff. She has the potential and the look to be Australias answer to Kelly Clarkson......

Jo For The Record Deal!

All Saints star and winner of season2 of It Takes Two, JOLENE ANDERSON is in talks with both UMA and Warner about signing a record deal to release an album!
Jolene who is from the town of Kempsey (where i unfortunatly happen to reside near....) won the hearts of Australia with her big voice on show.
She has said that nothing is official yet, its only talk, but she wont be leaving All Saints anytime soon. She has also said that her music would be more like Delta Goodrem and Missy Higgins, and that she doesnt want to be a popstar where shell have to get up and dance etc.
I hope she does release a album, she had the best voice on the show (and IMO she has a better voice than alot of singers out there today). I will buy your album Jolene!

I didn't even know she had a new album out until i was looking through the Sanity website......
Apparently it was released early last month, and apparently it didn't chart (that's probably why i haven't heard of it).
She hasn't really done much besides get married to Grant Hackett after her debut single Falling went to #3 in 2003. I actually own a copy of her first album Colourblind, which also didn't chart (its not that it was bad.....its just that it wasn't good).
I haven't heard any of her new stuff so I'm curious. I'm gonna see whether i can get my hands on a copy or download it somewhere

Delta On Rove

Tomorrow night (16/9) DELTA GOODREM will be having a interview on Rove although its unknown whether she will be performing or not (i predict she will be because In The Life was released yesterday). This will be Deltas first Rove appearance since 2005. Rove starts at 9:30pm on Ten right after Australian Idol.

In other Delta news, the In This Life iTunes single features another bonus song besides Take Me Home. Breathe In Breathe Out is a iTunes exclusive, so make sure everyone buys!

Another update on her new album Delta as well, as you already know Brave Face, God Laughs and Believe Again will all be on the album (Believe Again is the 2nd single to be released in November), another new track on the album is called How Do I Break It To My Heart? which was produced by John Shanks, who produced In This Life.

Steph has said in this weeks edition of the Womans Weekly thats shes getting ready to launch her next album. Anyone noticed that in Australia that singers are commonly referred to by there first name, not there full name?
Well it seems DELTA GOODREM is taking full advantage of that and dropping her last name on her new album released October 20th. The title of the new album is simply Delta.

this is my first official post (woohoo!) i decided to create this blog after one of my overseas friends suggested i should because her and alot of other people ask me about whats happening in the Australian music scene alot.
There is alot happening soon, with the release of new albums by Delta, The Veronicas, Kylie, etc So i thought it would be a good idea to create a blog to keep everyone up to date!
